How To Draw A Scarf On A Person
Anonymous asked:
Can you share some tips on how to draw scarves or hoodies? An example is a scarf wrapped around the neck (like Ink's or Template's if you don't get what I mean). I really have a bad time drawing them and it always frustrates me.
It's a bit funny to get asked for advice about drawing tbh but that might be due to my lack of confidence in my own art, especially in the past week or so it's been pretty bad…
But I scribbled a small thingie and I hope it makes enough sense to be considered helpful. Sorry for my scribbled writing again!

how do you draw sans heads? i struggle with them a lot.
Well, I know there are a lot of different ways to do this but… I've made a little tutorial to show how I usually draw heads.
I'm not great at explaining (and why does my stuff always look weird when I look at it after finishing it??) but I still hope this helps!!

Ohhh I love Temp's new design but I do have some questions now! Does he try to kill non-outcode errors too, like the ones in highschool aus? Also, would he stick to Error the specific being/alternate or errors the "species"? :eyes:
If they glitch and look like Errors, he absolutely would. Template reasons this with Errors being unstable and overall dangerous. He wouldn't want to wait until something happens but get rid of the problem before it becomes one.
Sometimes it's VERY hard to distinguish alterations and new characters from another, so he'd go after all Errors as a whole. I am answering questions about this quite a bit so idk whether I've already mentioned it or not, but of course there are always exceptions (like himself obviously). Overall, Template would always believe an Error is guilty until proven innocent. But if an Error was stable and seemed absolutely harmless, or even possibly be beneficial in some way, he would absolutely spare them.
There are so many different characters out there, so there is never a right or wrong answer. Relationships between characters are dynamic and can also depend on different circumstances and many other variables. Template might think one Error is dangerous, but then something happens that makes him change his mind or the other way around. In other words, I can't (and won't) answer this question about any specific character out there.
In the end, I trust everyone to think about it themselves and make their own choice. I still hope this helps and make decisions easier for you though. ;D
Thank you ♥
I got so many awesome messages in my inbox. I probably didn't feature them all because Tumblr tends to eat asks, but I wanted to respond to at least a few. uwu
I wanted to give everyone a VERY belated thank you for all these cute, amazing and lovely asks I got while doing that little comic chain about Template!! You guys know who you are. ;D
It was amazing to read all the lovely, encouraging messages, even though I didn't feature them. Template got flooded with gifts, hugs (oops) and encouraging words and it was just so very sweet to read them all!
And don't worry, the bean will be fine! I'll just give him a rest and maybe send Pale instead. It's not gonna be very interesting though, you'll need A LOT of patience xD
Oh wow, thank you! You probably don't read this because I took months to respond to this coz I'm late as always, but I still wanted to reply. .w.
So… anyway! I think to improve both your art and your art style, I think it's important to use references! Some people just start to draw without a clue and then are upset it's not working. Yeah, because you don't know how it works yet. That's okay and normal. So you look things up, just like with everything in life when not knowing how to solve a problem. To find your own art style, you can try to take reference from someone's art style you admire, maybe. If you're like me you will fail and end up with something entirely different because the style doesn't suit your own, but it will improve your skills and knowledge because you tried something new c:
Also! Use tutorials! There are plenty of tutorials for thousands of topics out there, some even for beginners! I always found DeviantArt to be a great way to look for tutorials.
So basically all I can say is: Always try new things and use references when you find yourself having trouble with something. The rest is actually practice and patience, sorry. And I mean it - I'm drawing for over 15 years (mostly casually with years of breaks in between though) and I believe I suck a lot when taking that into consideration. c;
AND I KEEP FINDING THESE IN MY ASK BOX:
I know I don't respond to all your messages, but that's just because I plan on replying but I just can't! It's not easy to keep track of everything and I just had to clean up a bunch but yeah… my inbox is a mess :'D
I love you guys and you're making this super fun, you're all amazing <3

Okay so you said that Pale wears his ribbon scarf for different reasons and that sounds like their are more reasons than I originally anticipated and guessed at so please elaborate
You might have missed this post?
And now, have some further explanation~
Red scarfs or capes are incredibly common in Undertale. And it seems to be important to a lot of Sanses. Pale doesn't quite understand that, but he adapted to it.
And now, let me explain a thing: Most people didn't catch up to that so let me elaborate further.
Have you ever wondered where Pale's clothing comes from?
No, of course not. But in this case, you might.
I never mentioned it but I hinted on it and a lot of people seem to have taken this 'cosplay' thing literally when it's actually the ONLY thing he can do.
Why?
Because Pale doesn't own anything. If you follow Mye's backstory for Ink, you might remember that he didn't even had clothes at the beginning. So did Pale. I believe Ink made his clothes himself since there is no other explanation given. But those colors required for creation never came to Pale.
The clothes he wears are remains from drained universes, hence that laundry mountain in his void. Wearing clothes is a way to express yourself, so he figured owning them is a step forward. Plus, running around naked for a skeleton doesn't seem to be in style. There is no advantage in standing out like that for him.
Anonymous asked:
I wanted to ask about Pale, what does the red scarf (or at least red cloth) tied on his arm symbolize?
Clothing. *slapped*
Character wise? You might know other characters with red scarfs. Like all of his clothes, it might seem familiar.
Design wise? Look at the coloring - it has a gradient and the color becomes more vibrant on the ends. The vibrant color is its original color. Whatever Pale wears happens to appear bleached out.
…Isn't it interesting that Ink's scarf becomes brighter at its ends? Pale contrasts this. Just basic headcanon stuff. uwu

I love how you draw hands (owo')
Aww, those pitiful things I draw? Thank you so much! ;u;
Quite some people already said they liked my style of drawing hands, so I thought I could explain some things? Maybe it helps someone…?
That's all I can say, really. Idk if this is helpful,but thanks for reading! ;w;
I really like sketching like this and doing it all on greyscale. Coloring can be difficult and takes a lot of time, so just not putting colors on stuff can feel quite relaxing. In other words, I've had a lot of fun streaming and drawing this. ^u^
Whatever Frenzy tells you shouldn't be taken at face value.
As requested by @jasmynation, who Diaz also belongs to
Template's redesign can be found here!! Not gonna lie, it took me SO MANY attempts to get his redesign to a point that I liked. While Pale is a blank slate in every literal meaning, it also gives pretty much unlimited freedom for his redesign. On the other hand, there are also limits to his color palette, since his design has to have light and pastel colors and also shouldn't follow a "theme". Redesigning a character is really no easy task, even if it's just some change of clothing…
So in the end I simply decided what I personally like and what would suit him, and this is the result! Pale would always prefer cozy clothes over anything else, and he's simply not the same without that turtleneck sweater (trust me - I tried). So he ended up with some baggy jacket, a simply and nice turtleneck shirt and some mismatched socks because why not? And I LOVE the combination of orange and blue, if you haven't noticed yet o3o
Since Pale as before lacks emotions, there isn't much of a notable change in his personality. He will still use the core of an AU to gain emotions and doesn't have much of an own will. That makes him easy to persuade and manipulate (if you can even call it that?). Of course everyone is still free to use his old design. View it as an addition, not a replacement ;D
If you have any questions let me know!
